It is a 32-bit address which is divided into four fields of 8-bits each, for example 83.139.80.200. With all these methods of obtaining the IP addresses of internet users available, one should be very careful with the exposure of such address because with the address in the wrong hands, your personal information on your computer or the ones you shared with a website can easily be obtained and used to your detriment.
What are the ways you can protect your IP address? One way is that you should not agree to file transfers or calls from an unknown person on any messenger. The use of proxy server is also a potent way of masking your address from being displayed. The highly recommended way of protecting your information is through the use of applications that can hide your IP.
